HP explains why companies need to modernize applications and makes the case for moving apps off the mainframe.

HP: Companies that "do nothing" to improve during a recession disappear. In fact, one study found that only 40 percent of companies that were "brand leaders" before the last recession (1998 to 2002) retained that position after the recession.

What do companies need to do? HP argues that application modernization is one of the most pressing needs today's enterprises face. In this white paper, the company discusses why modernization is necessary and argues that companies benefit by moving applications off the mainframe.
