A San Francisco judge rules that the StreetView cars may have violated federal wiretapping laws.

International Business Times: A judge in San Francisco has ruled that Google's StreetView cars may have violated federal wiretapping laws when intercepting Wi-Fi signals. "Merely pleading that a network is unencrypted does not render that network readily accessible to the general public," the judge wrote. His ruling clears the way for a current class action lawsuit to proceed.

Google has also faced legal action regarding its StreetView cars in several other countries. France has already fined the company 100,000 euros for violating the privacy of its citizens.
