A new survey reveals that end users are going around the IT department and sometimes violating company policies in order to deploy cloud computing services.

Computerworld: Business technology services company Avanade has released the results of a new survey which found that 20 percent of enterprise executives and business unit leaders said that they had gone around the IT department in order to use cloud computing services. Of those who had bypassed the IT department, 61 percent said it was easier to handle their needs themselves, and 50 percent said that going through IT would take too long. The survey also found that 74 percent of enterprises now use some cloud computing services.
