Microsoft offered a sneak peak of the next version of its flagship operating system at the D9 conference.

PCMag: At the D9 conference, Microsoft offered attendees a sneak peak of Windows 8. This version of the operating system is designed to run on both traditional PCs and tablets, and it features a tiled interface that looks a lot like Windows Phone 7. It's touchscreen friendly and includes a "Snap" feature that makes multitasking easier.

Microsoft also said that users won't have to buy a new PC to use the new operating system because it will work with "the hundreds of millions of PCs already out in the market."
