Dimension Data Finds Vulnerabilities on Cisco Devices

Security researchers find that enterprises are not installing patches on their networking equipment.

Computerworld: In a recent assessment of 270 corporate networks that predominantly use Cisco equipment, Dimension Data found that 73 percent had at least one known security vulnerability that had not been patched. In fact, one vulnerability -- Cisco PSIRT 109444 -- was found on 66 percent of the networks examined.

"Patching is a difficult process for corporates. It is not something they have yet incorporated into their culture," said Dimension Data's Neil Campbell. "A vulnerability like this [PSIRT 109444] might exist for a year or more, or indefinitely."
