iPhone Stored Location in Test Even if Disabled

The bad news: turning off the location services on your iPhone won't stop it from tracking you.

Wall Street Journal: Test conducted by The Wall Street Journal and confirmed by independent security researcher Ashkan Soltani reveal that turning off location services does not stop iPhones from collecting and saving location data. Despite having the location services turned off, phones used in the test continued to log coordinates and time stamps, although the data was not transmitted to Apple.

Apple did not respond to a request to comment on the story.
