Apple Experiences Supply Problems with iPad

Market research firm iSuppli has reduced its estimates for iPad shipments because Apple is having a hard time making enough units to keep up with demand.

DigiTimes: Market research firm iSuppli has reduced its estimate of the number of iPads Apple will ship this year from 43.7 million to 39.7 million, a reduction of 9.1 percent. The firm says Apple is having production problems, including quality concerns with LCD panels, production shortages of the new speaker, lamination issues with one of the touch suppliers and end-unit production shortfalls. The firm says the Japanese tsunami is not to blame for the iPad manufacturing problems.

Demand for the tablet continues to exceed supply.
