Microsoft says its competitor does not have the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) certification it claims to have.

Washington Post: In a blog post, Microsoft Corporate Vice President and Deputy General Counsel David Howard claims that Google does not have the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) certification for its Google Apps for Government suite that it claims to have. “When it comes to security, the facts matter,” he wrote.

Howard bases his claims on a Justice Department brief related to an ongoing suit filed by Google against the government. Google claims that the U.S. Department of the Interior's decision to choose Microsoft's cloud-based e-mail over Google's cloud-based e-mail wasn't competitive.
