Dell to Invest $1 Billion to Boost Data Storage Products

Most of the money will be used to build 22 new global solution centers.

NetworkWorld: At a company-sponsored event in Beijing, Dell announced that it will spend $1 billion over the next three years to improve its enterprise storage offerings. Most of the money will be used to build 22 new "global solution centers," which will develop new products related to cloud computing, virtualization and storage. Ten of the facilities will be completed within the first half of 2011.

The company also plans to spend part of the money building new data centers.
