Most IT Managers Plan to Adopt Cloud Storage

A new survey finds that 57 percent of IT managers plan to move some stored data to the cloud.

Computerworld: A new survey of 133 IT managers by market research firm Storage Strategies NOW (SSG-NOW) and co-sponsored by the Storage Networking Industry Association found that 57 percent of respondents planned to adopt cloud storage. Those surveyed said they planned to move e-mail data to the cloud first, followed by front-office applications and backup data.

When asked when the transition to the cloud would occur, 27% said in six months to one year; 22% replied that they had already adopted some form of cloud storage; 17% responded in one year to 18 months; 16% said that they would adopt it in the next six months; and 12% replied in 18 months to two years.
