Hackers Turn a Gmail April Fool's Joke Into a Reality

With Kinect and a bit of software, you really can control Gmail with body movements.

NY Times: On Friday, Google posted an April Fools Joke called "Gmail Motion," which touted a fictional new feature that would allow you to control your e-mail account with body gestures. However, folks at the University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies didn't think it was a very good joke, as they already had a product which would allow people to control their PCs with gestures using Microsoft's Kinect hardware.

With just a little work, the group adapted their solution to control Gmail using the very gestures suggested by Google. Click the "View article" link below to see the video.
