AMD Aims Enterprise Chips at Cloud, Virtualization

An executive at the chip maker says the company's server processors support the current trends toward cloud computing and virtualization.

eWeek: In a recent interview, AMD's director of North America commercial business Vlad Rozanovich explained how the company's roadmap fits in with current technology trends. He said the company's server processors support cloud computing and virtualization, which are increasingly important to enterprise customers. He also said the company's Fusion APUs (accelerated processing units) will likely thrive as video content becomes more and more important.

Rozanovich also discussed AMD's "Krishna" chips, due for release in 2012, that will span across desktops, notebooks and tablets.
