Apple says Amazon's new store infringes on its "App Store" trademark.

NYTimes: Amazon.com is launching its Appstore for Android today as an alternative to Google's Android Marketplace. The new store will likely offer lower prices than other app stores and it will take advantage of Amazon's recommendation engine to direct consumers to apps they might like.

Just as the store goes live, Apple has sued Amazon for infringing on its "App Store" trademark. In a statement, Apple said, “We’ve asked Amazon not to copy the App Store name because it will confuse and mislead customers."
