Google Accuses China of Blocking Gmail

The company said China has been hindering access to its email services for the past two weeks.

Reuters: The rocky relationship between Google and the Chinese government is becoming a little rockier as Google accuses the Chinese of disrupting Gmail service. "There is no issue on our side, we have checked extensively," said a Google spokesperson. "This is a government blockage carefully designed to look like the problem is with Gmail."

For about two weeks, Chinese Gmail users have been able to log in to their accounts, but haven't been able to send e-mail or access their contacts.
