Japan Phone Operators Report Poor Services After Earthquake

Survivors are having difficulty contacting loved ones on their mobile phones.

BusinessWeek: Among the multitude of damage caused by the 8.9-magnitude earthquake in Japan is a disruption of mobile communications services. The country's major wireless providers say that connections are poor, and survivors are having difficulty contacting loved ones via their cell phones.

The quake also triggered tsunami waves that caused considerable damage in the country and prompted tsunami warnings for coastal areas around the Pacific.
