PCMagazine: Microsoft has announced the official release date for the latest update to its browser, Internet Explorer 9 (IE9): next Monday, March 14. "Exactly twelve months from the first Platform Preview of IE9, on Monday March 14th we will celebrate the developers and designers who are making a more beautiful web for all of us," blogged Microsoft's Ryan Gavin. "We will release the final version of Internet Explorer 9 for download beginning at 9 p.m. Pacific."
The official launch event will take place in Austin, Texas, at the SxSW conference.
Early reviews of the browser say it is much faster than previous versions and that it has improved support for HTML5.
