A new survey reveals that IT managers don't know what devices are connecting to their networks or what data is on those devices.

eWeek: Vendor Mformation Technologies has released the results of a new mobile security survey of 300 enterprise CIOs in the US and the UK. It found that 76 percent CIOs felt that employee-owned mobile devices are causing security headaches, 78 percent didn’t know what mobile devices were connecting to the corporate network, and 77 percent didn't know what data was on those devices. In addition, the survey found that 56 percent of those surveyed could wipe data off a mobile device that was missing.

“Enterprise mobility may well be a business imperative, but it remains a massive risk,” said Mformation CEO Todd DeLaughter.
