QFabric networking architecture aims to reduce the number of layers in data center infrastructure.

eWeek: Juniper Networks has launched a new product called QFabric networking architecture that it says can reduce a typical data center infrastructure from two or three layers to one. The company claims QFabric will be 10 times faster, use 77 percent less power, need 27 percent fewer networking devices, and take up 90 percent less data center floor space than legacy networks.

Analysts say the new product makes Juniper competitive with Cisco, which largely dominates the data center networking market.
