Chinese Government Launches Search Engine

Called "Panguso," the Google competitor will employ very strict filters.

Washington Post: Following last year's shutdown of the Chinese Google site, the Chinese government has launched it's own search engine called "" More specifically, Xinhua, the government news agency, will operate the site along with network provider China Mobile Ltd., which is also state-run.

Panguso is said to apply very strict filters to searches. For example, a search for Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Liu Xiaobo yields no results.
