Google Gets Record 75,000 Job Applications in a Week

The flood of resumes tops the company's previous record by 15 percent.

Bloomberg: After announcing that it would add 6,000 employees this year, Google received 75,000 job applications last week. That tops its previous record, set in May 2007, by 15 percent.

“We’re looking for top talent,” blogged Google's Alan Eustace. “We’ll hire as many smart, creative people as we can to tackle some of the toughest challenges in computer science: like building a Web-based operating system from scratch, instantly searching an index of more than 100 million gigabytes and even developing cars that drive themselves.”
