A Day After CEO Is Hacked, Facebook Rolls Out New Security Features

The social network is implementing HTTPS log ins and a new social authentication feature.

Time: Facebook has taken the wraps off two new security features. First, users can opt to log in via HTTPS. Utilizing the secure protocol stops others from stealing your password if you log in from a public hot spot, but it does slow down service.

Second, if the site sees suspicious activity on your account, it will ask you to verify your identity with a "social authentication" test. The test involves identifying photos of your friends.
