A new IBM survey finds that 53 percent of midsize companies expect to increase their IT budgets over the next 12 to 18 months.

CIOInsight: In a new survey conducted by KS&R for IBM, 53 percent of midsize companies said they were planning to increase their IT budgets over the next 12 to 18 months. Only 16 percent said there is a possibility their budgets might decrease over that time.

In addition, 79 percent of respondents said that their mindset was focused on customers, growth and innovation. This is a sharp contrast from the 2009 version of the survey which found 53 percent focused on efficiency and cost control.
