The courtroom drama continues in the cases surrounding Mark Hurd's messy exit from HP.

Wall Street Journal: In a response to a demand from a shareholder, HP has proposed an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mark Hurd's departure from his former position as the company's CEO. This would be the third such investigation since Hurd's resignation last August. The resignation came after details came to light about Hurd's relationship with a contractor.

Hurd was given a $35 million compensation package when he left HP. He is now a co-president at Oracle.
