Apple CEO Steve Jobs Takes Medical Leave

Chief operating officer Tim Cook will handle day-to-day operations at the company during Jobs' absence.

Associated Press: Apple CEO Steve Jobs today told Apple employees that he will be taking a leave of absence to focus on his health. Jobs will retain his position as CEO, but chief operating officer Tim Cook will handle day-to-day decisions at the company.

The company has not revealed any details about Jobs' current health situation. In 2004, Jobs had surgery for pancreatic cancer, and in 2009, he had a liver transplant.
