PCMagazine: Millennial Media is reporting that for the first time ever it served more ads to Android users than to iOS users in December. For the month, Android climbed 8 percent to hit a 46 percent share of impressions. Meanwhile, Apple dropped 12 percent for a 32 percent share.
"In 2011, we anticipate that we'll continue to see increased platform diversity with not only Android, but RIM and Windows Phone 7 applying pressure on iOS," blogged Millennial Media's Mack McKelvey. "This prediction once again stresses the importance of advertising and developing across platforms."
