Intel Settles Nvidia Patent Suit For $1.5 Billion

The two companies signed a six-year agreement to cross-license their patents.

InformationWeek: Solving a year-long patent dispute, Intel and Nvidia have signed a six-year cross-licensing agreement. Under the terms of the deal, Intel will pay Nvidia $1.5 billion over five years for access to all of Nvidia's patents. Nvidia will receive access to Intel patents which were covered under previous licensing deals.

The Federal Trade Commission had been investigating the matter and is also looking into a separate $1.25 million settlement Intel reached with arch-rival AMD.
