InformationWeek: Just one day after it launched, Apple's Mac App Store has already become the target of hackers and pirates. A group called "Hackulous" says it has created a program named "Kickback" that breaks the copy protections on the site, but it hasn't released the code yet. "We're not going to release Kickback until well after the store's been established. We don't want to devalue applications and frustrate developers," said the group's spokesperson, who goes by the name "Dissident."
Meanwhile, other software pirates say they can download paid apps for free from the store by copying and pasting a receipt number from a free app.
