Gartner Raises IT Spending Forecast for 2011

The firm expects global IT spending to increase 5.1 percent this year to hit $3.6 trillion.

ZDNet: Revising its earlier forecast, market research firm Gartner says that it now believes global IT spending will increase 5.1 percent in 2011 to reach $3.6 trillion. The company had previously predicted a 3.5 percent increase.

At the same time, the company reported that IT spending for 2010 totaled $3.4 trillion, a 5.4 percent increase from 2009.
