Snow Leopard users have 1,000 apps to select from at launch.

The Mac Observer: Making good on its earlier promises, Apple opened the Mac App Store earlier this morning. The store is now available to anyone who has downloaded the Mac OS X 10.6.6 update, and it features more than 1,000 apps from companies like Aperture, Boinx, Autodesk, and others.

The store's interface is very similar to the iOS App Store and connects with users' iTunes accounts.
