Experts warn of a possible skills shortage that could lead to an increase in salaries.

ComputerWeekly: While demand for most occupations in the UK is declining, researchers at Reed.co.uk say demand for IT workers is up 23 percent compared to last year. In fact, IT jobs grew four times faster than the economy as a whole.

"Although salaries have stayed flat, as competition for IT jobs remains fierce, the most recent data shows this is beginning to change. Skills shortages are beginning to reappear, and can very quickly start to drive salaries up again," said Reed's Martin Warnes.
