Apple Sued Over Applications Giving Information to Advertisers

Pandora, Paper Toss, the Weather Channel and Dictionary.com are also named as defendants in the potential class action suit.

Bloomberg: Jonathan Lalo of Los Angeles County has filed a lawsuit against Apple for allowing apps to transmit personal information to advertising networks without users' consent. The potential class action suit claims, “Some apps are also selling additional information to ad networks, including users’ location, age, gender, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation and political views.”

Several apps, including Pandora, Paper Toss, the Weather Channel and Dictionary.com, are also named as defendants in the lawsuit.
