The SEC is investigating whether the ex-CEO passed insider information to a contractor with whom he had a relationship.

Wall Street Journal: Unnamed sources tell the Wall Street Journal that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are investigating the circumstances surrounding former CEO Mark Hurd's departure from HP. The investigators are looking into a number of issues, including whether Hurd passed along information about HP's acquisition of EDS to contractor Jodie Fisher, who later accused Hurd of sexual harassment.

HP said it "is cooperating fully with the SEC on its investigation."
