Microsoft Quietly Shuts Down Office Genuine Advantage Program

Users will no longer be required to pass through a validation step to download templates and add-ons for Microsoft Office.

ZDNet: With absolutely no fanfare, Microsoft has apparently shut down its Office Genuine Advantage Program. The anti-piracy measure formerly required Microsoft Office users to pass through a validation process before they could download add-ons or templates.

The change does not affect Office activation (which occurs when users first install the software) or the Windows validation process.
