PCWorld: Apple revealed months ago that it planned to open a Mac App Store in January; now it's set an official date: January 6. The store will provide similar function as the company's App Store for its mobile iOS device owners, but this one will provide software for Mac owners.
Initially, the store will go live in 90 different countries. The apps will be divided into six different categories: Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity and Utilities. It will also feature customer ratings and reviews.
