Solid State Drives No Better Than Others, Survey Says

A French hardware site says that SSDs actually get returned more often than traditional hard drives.

PCWorld: A new study by French site challenges the traditional wisdom that solid state drives (SSDs) are more reliable than traditional hard drives. Analyzing an online retailer's database, the researchers found that SSDs were returned as non-functioning 2.05 percent of the time, while hard disks were returned just 1.94 percent of the time.

Intel's SSDs had the lowest failure rates.
