PCWorld: The available IPv4 Internet addresses will likely run out sometime next year. To deal with the problem, the Internet will be transitioning to IPv6, which offers many more available addresses. But transitioning to IPv6 could be difficult for some large organizations, so Verizon is launching a new set of consulting services designed to help enterprises upgrade their networks. "These services will span the entire IPv6 implementation lifecycle, offering clients full end-to-end support," said Verizon's Melissa Bellisario-Board.
Verizon plans to complete its own transition to IPv6 within 18 months.
