Google eBooks will offer hundreds of thousands of popular titles for purchase and millions more for free.

Wall Street Journal: Google is officially unveiling Google eBooks, its online marketplace where users can purchase thousands of electronic books and download millions more at no charge. The company has deals with all of the major publishers and vows to become "the largest e-book store on the planet."
