AVG Update Causes Systems to Reboot Continuously

A new version of the popular antivirus software which was pushed out Wednesday causes 64-bit Windows 7 PCs to become unstable.

The Register: Users of the AVG anti-virus software who have 64-bit Windows 7 systems say that an upgrade pushed out Wednesday is causing their PCs to reboot continuously. The problem affects both free and paid versions of the software and both desktop and server versions of Windows 7.

AVG has published a notice and instructions for solving the problem on its Web site.
