High-Performance Analytic Appliance promises to speed data access for real-time data analysis.

PCWorld: SAP is now shipping its High-Performance Analytic Appliance (HANA) product that was first announced last May. HANA boxes improve performance because they hold business data in RAM, instead of requiring analytics applications to access the data from slower disk-based or Flash storage.

SAP intends for customers to use HANA with its ERP software, but the appliance can access data from other sources as well.
