Apple, Android 'Most Desired' Smartphone Systems

People who currently have smartphones prefer the iPhone, while people who own feature phones prefer Android.

Cnet: Nielsen has released the results of a new survey that asked people which smartphone they would prefer to own. Among current smartphone owners, 35 percent want an iPhone and 28 percent picked Android. But among people who own feature phones, 28 percent picked Android and 25 percent picked the iPhone.

When the results are broken down demographically, those under 35 or over 55 were more likely to choose iPhone, while those in the middle favored Android. Also, women preferred the iPhone while men preferred Android.
