China Directed Google Attack, Leaked Cable Says

Among the revelations contained in Wikileaks' posting of diplomatic communications is confirmation that the Chinese government sanctioned the cyber attack on Google.

InformationWeek: Over the weekend, controversial site Wikileaks released hundreds of thousands of documents containing communication between the U.S. and other governments. Among other things, the documents reveal that the Chinese government sanctioned and helped to conduct the attack on Google that was revealed in January.

Security experts have long believed the Chinese were behind the attack, but the Beijing government had officially denied the allegations.
