As Technology Deals Boom, the Talk Turns to Bubbles

A New York Times piece suggests the current Internet landscape is looking very similar to 2000.

NY Times: Could we be in the midst of another Internet bubble that's just like the one that burst in 2000? Several signs seem to indicate we are.

First, Dealogic reports 5,100 tech mergers and acquisitions so far this year. That's higher than at any time since 2000.

Second, some of the people that were around in 2000--Mary Meeker, Frank P. Quattrone--are making headlines again. And third, some venture capitalists are even tossing around the phrase "irrational exuberance."
