Apple's approval ends a 16-month dispute and an FCC inquiry.

RedOrbit: Google has announced that its Google Voice app is now available on the iPhone. Google first submitted the app for approval about 16 months ago. After Apple refused to approve it, the FCC got involved, investigating whether Apple was trying to stifle competition.

Google Voice allows users to route calls to their Google Voice number to any phone they wish. It also offers free U.S. texting and low-cost international calls.
