Code improvements give the browser faster handling of JavaScript and graphics.

InformationWeek: Mozilla has released a new beta version of its Firefox 4 browser that is significantly faster than its predecessors. The speed improvements come thanks to several new technology updates, including a new JavaScript compiler, new support for hardware-accelerated graphics, and support for WebGL.

As a result, "pages load faster, interactions with Websites are snappier," said Mozilla. "For developers, this means you can build richer high-performance Web applications and explore the world of 3D graphics, inherent to the Web."
