Google Settles Buzz Privacy Suit

The company will pay $8.5 million, but users won't get any of that money.

Washington Post: Google has announced that it has reached a settlement in a class action lawsuit regarding its Buzz social networking service. Under the terms of the settlement, Google will pay $8.5 million into a fund that will educate users about privacy issues. Individual Buzz users will not receive any cash payments.

Google informed users about the settlement via Gmail.
