Microsoft Server 2008 Gets Virtualization Boost

Release candidate offers new features for both desktop and server virtualization.

PCWorld: Microsoft has issued a release candidate for Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2008 R2 which adds a number of new virtualization features. They include the RemoteFX next-generation remote desktop protocol, Dynamic Memory to allow servers to manage memory more efficiently, and a new version of the PowerShell remote management tool.

Microsoft says a production version of the service pack will become available in the first quarter of next year.
