Intel to Spend Up to $8 Billion on Factory Upgrades

The company's plans could result in 800 to 1,000 new U.S. jobs, plus 8,000 temporary construction jobs.

Bloomberg: Intel has announced plans to upgrade its factories in Oregon and Arizona, as well as to build a new research and development facility. The projects will cost the company between $6 and $8 billion and will take "several years."

The company says the changes could result in the creation of 800 to 1,000 manufacturing jobs, plus 8,000 temporary construction jobs.
