If you include the iPad, Apple controls a quarter of the PC market.

Fortune: Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore has sent a note to clients that points out that if tablets were counted as "PCs," Apple is now the world's largest PC maker, with 25 percent of the market. "The iPad," he writes, "is driving a rapid, unprecedented shift in the structure of the computing industry."

To support his point, Whitmore explains that, without the iPad, the U.S. PC market grew just 4 percent; with the iPad, it grew 24 percent. Without the iPad, Apple's PC sales grew 24 percent; with the iPad, sales grew 250 percent.
