An investigation reveals that top Facebook apps are transmitting users' personal information.

Wall Street Journal: A Wall Street Journal investigation has discovered that some of the top Facebook apps, including FarmVille, FrontierVille and Texas HoldEm Poker, have been transmitting personally identifying information to advertising and tracking companies. That gives those companies access to the users' names and, in some cases, their friends' names, even if they have their privacy settings set to the strictest levels, and it violates Facebook's privacy policies.

Facebook says it is working to "dramatically limit" the privacy breach.
