Mashable: Twitter co-founders Evan Williams and Biz Stone shared their thoughts on the future of the micro-blogging service at a recent Commonwealth Club of San Francisco event. Williams pointed out that the service signs up more than 1.8 million users per week, more than the entire population of his home state of Nebraska. He also predicted that Twitter would eventually sign up a billion members, though he didn't say how long he thought that would take.
The founders also said they thought they were balancing commercial interests with users' interests. I want to ask you to name another platform where you can send a message to 5 million people for free, said Stone.
